The UCT GSB Solution Space in partnership with Ayoba, developed the E-Track Programme to support start-ups across the continent. The E-Track Programme is a three-phase venture acceleration programme. Phase one is the Venture Launch which focuses on validating the venture concept. Phase two is aimed at accelerating the development of the validated venture, and in phase three, the programme works on scaling ventures with the support of partners and investors. 

Designed to support individuals and teams to build scalable businesses with a global potential, the programme targets high-impact individuals, aspiring entrepreneurs, and experienced founders. The E-Track Programme is now accepting applications for the first phase, the online Venture Launch course which is a pre-requisite to be accepted into the next phases of the programme. 

Venture Launch is appropriate for participants, that have or want to, develop both for-profit and non-profit scale-ups. By the end of the Venture Launch course, teams will have developed, prototyped, and verified a novel product or service which can be developed further in the second phase of the E-Track Programme. Venture Launch is a demanding course that pushes participants but also provides the resources to help them navigate the challenges of implementing an early-stage scale-up idea. Should participants decide not to continue with their ventures after the Venture Launch course, they will still leave having learnt critical and broadly applicable techniques about starting and launching a venture.

Despite the challenging operating conditions of 2020, the UCT GSB Solution Space managed to provide tailored support for 58 entrepreneurs (30 ventures) through the E-Track Programme. The ventures supported developed digital solutions across legal, finance, entertainment, and education industries and represented eight countries. This collaborative space also serves to connect start-ups with key knowledge, resources, networks, and talent to scale ventures.

MicroApps are single purpose and cross-platform apps designed to support a single step in a user’s workflow.


In contrast to full-blown mobile apps, MicroApps are lightweight apps within a container that perform one single task — and do so seamlessly, with little friction.

MicroApps are self-sufficient and can be independently deployed and tested. They can be deployed dynamically without going through an App Store approval process and downloading/updating apps. Access restrictions are applied to restrict who can access what MicroApps, and what information from the main App users is delivered.

The Solution Space at the UCT Graduate School of Business, in partnership with [ayoba](https://www.ayoba.me/), invites you to join our virtual Demo Day, showcasing start-ups from this years’ E-Track Programme. E-Track is a three-phase early stage venture acceleration and a capacity building programme for high impact entrepreneurs in South Africa and beyond.

The entrepreneurs started with a five week fully accredited Venture Launch course, which aims to validate the venture opportunity. Phase two is a twelve week Venture Exploitation programme where admitted ventures accelerate the development of their venture. This is done through a high touch scale-up process that aims to solidify the product offering and secure customer buy-in. Over this period, Cohort 4 founders have been building their ventures with guidance and support from the Solution Space and ayoba ecosystem and networks. Through this process they have built, tested, and validated innovative digital solutions aimed at furthering African development.

Demo Day marks the penultimate point in their venture building journey and serves as an opportunity to evidence learningd, celebrate progress and engage foungers about their future plans for their continued development beyond the programme.

The cohort features ten ventures working on a range of high-impact solutions.

**Desert Green Africa** - a startup offering end-to-end optimisation of the informal agricultural value chain.</br>
**Fortis Biohacking** - an interactive app that facilitates health and performance data management. </br>
**MariHealth Solutions** - a startup improving aquaculture productivity through marine health monitoring and management systems.</br>
**NOOSi** - a startup making quality home-based health care more accessible.</br>
**VeriDev** - a platform making access to quality technical talent easy and affordable for non-technical founders</br>
**Radian Technologies** – software enabling business transformation through IoT solutions</br>
**Smart BoxTM By Line of Sight Technology** – an app providing real-time, smart medicine and first-aid control</br>
**SPEKBOOM** - a venture setting out to redistribute global online travel booking commissions to local tourism providers and drive the long-term sustainability of African tourism.</br>
**Tike Solutions Systems Ltd** - a venture enabling reliable and safe management procedures for events and logistics.</br>
**Wubuntu** – a startup driving intercultural empowerment between African & Chinese youth through immersion tours & online learning</br>
